Mistress Lane is a fascinating name. Just to add further to the information in the 1888 map provided by buffaloskinnner I have taken these 2 sections from OS maps in the excellent National Library of Scotland website. The first is an 1888 to 1890 map that to the top left corner does not label Mistress Lane but it could be the unnamed lane that joins Ley Lane. The second is an 1906 map that labels Mistress Lane which joins Ley Lane.

This SL thread is relevant. http://secretleeds.com/viewtopic.php?t=2774

The electricity has just dimmed a lot!!! Presumably a reduction in electricity supply .

Edit shortly after posting. It must be the bulb that is going as other light bulbs seem normal brightness when trying them :!:

Hi j.c.d.,

The 1853 Street Index for Leeds states that Minor and Scurrs 'Road' was situated at 57 Briggate.
